Steelhead

Steelhead are the most sought-after game fish in West Michigan, drawing anglers from across the country to chase their explosive runs and aerial fights. The Grand River and Muskegon River are two of Michigan's top steelhead fisheries, offering productive runs in both spring and fall. Known for their strength and speed, steelhead push deep into West Michigan's rivers from Lake Michigan — making every hookup an unforgettable experience. Novice and advanced anglers alike will get something out of a trip with me. I'm proficient in just about every technique you could imagine to get these fish: spey fishing, streamer fishing, fly fishing, float fishing, casting, you name it we can do it. I have a special connection to Spey fishing for them as it can be some of the most exciting fishing available when your real is screaming and a hot fish is on its life changing.

When?
Steelhead are around from Late September to early May. That being said some of the best times to go are Oct-Nov and Feb-April conditions change quickly though and depending on water levels and temperature there can be great fishing all throughout these time frames.

Trout

Trout fishing on the Muskegon River can be very productive and fun. We target rainbow trout and brown trout. I mainly run fly fishing only trips for these guys throwing dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. My favorite by far is to streamer fish for them and I have a plethora of knowledge in this and I'd love to share it. Dry fly fishing can be quite electric as well in the spring and early summer months its a lot of fun and I have a lot of experience doing this as well.

When?
We can fish for these fish from Oct-June with the best times being March-June for sure.

Smalmouth Bass

Summer is a really great time to be on the water with the main quarry being Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and trout. Its a very peaceful time to be on the river and it's definitely one of my favorite times of year to be on the water.
